Terms of sale for PET puppies
All pets are neutered before delivery to new home
This puppy is sold as pet quality, meaning the dog does not meet the exacting conformation standard for the breed. Pet quality puppies are sold as companions only. This dog may not be shown in conformation events nor may the dog be used for breeding purposes. It is however allowed, because the puppy is considered to be in perfect health, that this dog may be shown in obedience, agility and/or any other companion trails.
This puppy is guaranteed to be free of all communicable diseases at the time of sale and has been given all of the proper inoculations for the puppy's age. See shot record for list and dates of vaccinations. To the best of my knowledge, this puppy has not been exposed to any communicable disease. The new owner is required to have the puppy checked by a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) within 72 hours of taking possession. If within 2 weeks from purchase the DVM finds anything seriously wrong with the puppy, the customer must provide a letter from the examining DVM as evidence of the puppy's illness stating that the disease was undeniably contracted while in the breeder s possession. Accompanying reports, dated within the 72 hour period, must also be provided as proof of having the puppy checked within the initial mandated time frame. If the puppy is found defective within the warranted period of 2 weeks, at the customer s discretion, the purchase price will be refunded or a replacement puppy of similar pet quality will be provided at once or at the earliest availability.
The puppy is guaranteed to be free of hereditary disease. If the puppy develops a life-threatening or debilitating ailment within the first 8 (eight) years of the dog's life, that is determined by a DVM to be indisputably hereditary in nature, the puppy will be replaced at no cost for a similar puppy of pet quality of the customer's choice, at once or at the earliest availability.
Seller is committed to assist the new owner and offer advice upon request of customer. The seller assumes no responsibility for this puppy after leaving the breeder s possession for any reason, other than those expressed above, this includes but is not limited to the following: medical expenses, problems stemming from new owner negligence, landlord's disapproval, allergy to animals, difficulty housebreaking, difficulty with ears standing, disagreement of family, damage from chewing, barking, etc.
The purchase of this puppy is a 10 to 15 year commitment, not to be taken lightly. Due to my concern for my puppies well being, this puppy can never be sold or given away without prior knowledge of the breeder. I will accept you privately placing the dog with a new owner, but I must approve of the home prior to the transfer. The person taking the dog must agree to and sign for the conditions of this contract. A $500 breech of contract fee will be levied if given away or sold without my consent. Any court and attorney fees to be paid by purchaser above. If you become unable to provide a home or find a suitable home for the puppy, you agree that he/she will be returned without cost with the AKC papers signed over to me. I will board the dog until a suitable home can be found.
As a commitment to the mental well being and proper stimulation of the puppy, the customer agrees to enroll in basic obedience or agility classes within 90 days of taking possession of the puppy. Customer agrees that owning a puppy is a serious responsibility and is committed to attending classes and homework training until the puppy successfully completes the requirements of the class.
Customer further agrees to keep the puppy in excellent health and in optimum conditions for the rest of its natural life. Customer agrees to continue to socialize the dog and provide continuous positive human contact for the life of the dog. Excellent health includes yearly vaccinations, proper weight on the dog (NOT OVER or UNDER weight), monthly heartworm preventative, and routine veterinary care. Optimum conditions are for the dog to live indoors, to have a amply sized dog crate, outdoor-time will only be in a fenced yard (chained-up is not acceptable), sanitary conditions, a dog shelter for inclimate weather, fresh food and water daily. The breeder will confiscate the dog if said conditions are not strictly adhered to, without notice and without compensation for acquiring the dog. AKC papers must be immediately surrendered and signed over to breeder if confiscation is warranted.
