Abby at 9wks

Abby's picture

Abby is a stud pick puppy. She was pretty much my pick from the very beginning. I could see a lot of what I like coming to the surface of this little girl ... milk chocolate coloring, topline, head, short coupled, nice rear, good croup.

At 9wks of age she is a spitfire. She has loads of attitude, which is why I picked the registered name for her. She's chocolate, but she will never have to apologize for it. Regardless of color, she is a sound, true and typey MinPin bitch. She has a sweet expression, beautiful high ear set, a table top topline, well angulated rear, flashy high stepping hackney ... all combined with that "tude" of hers. Another name for her could have easily been "No Fear".

Still looking good, I can't bring myself to pet her out. I don't really want to show a chocolate (chicken? You bet), but I think I'm gonna have to give her at least a chance.

Abby WINS in Harrisburg

Abby's picture

I couldn't stack the brat for the picture. The little rascal was in DON'T TOUCH ME mode having just come in season a day or two before. Her win was ONE bitch short of a major. So we took home the 2pt single on a chocolate puppy, without complaint.

Abby does the MPCA Nationals

Under Professional handler, Pamela DeHetre, Abby won her class in her 12 to 15 month old Chocolate bitches class. She had her own fan club, getting much interest and praise from fellow exhibitors.

Abby Wins again

Under breeder-judge Madeline Miller, Abby did as well in Regular classes as she did in Sweepstakes. She won her class and admiration of the breeder spectators sitting ringside. I received much positive feedback on her. I'm glad I decided to bring her as my exhibit at the 2003 MPCA Nationals.

Abby goes BREED!

Abby's picture

Abby was showing like a princess. After taking Reserve to the 4 point major yesterday, Abby then takes Best of Breed this following day. Yet again, ONE bitch short of a major! A little disheartening, but I'm beginning to think I might have a shot at finishing a Chocolate!

Abby takes a MAJOR!

She showed pretty well & defeated a slate of nearly all red competition under judge Denny Kodner. The following day, under judge Chuck Trotter, she was Reserve WB to the 4pt major. Abby had a really good weekend.

Abby's close up

Closer picture of Abby from her first major win. She is maturing nicely, pictured here at 14 months of age. I'm still very pleased with her.

Abby takes a 5 point MAJOR!

Abby's picture

Over an entry of 17 bitches, Abby took Winners Bitch for a 5 point major under judge Joan Scott. Words simply fail me other than I was thrilled. Abby needs 2 more singles to finish her championship. Her majors are done!!!
I hope she will take at least ONE picture with all 4 feet firmly planted on the table. Notice her rear feet aren't touching at all. The proper MinPin temperament (Terrier-like) is more than demonstrated with this little girl's gamey personality.

Abby FINISHES

Abby's picture needs to be scanned

Abby is my 5th Champion this show year (Nov 2002 - Oct 2003), but she is my first Champion Chocolate. Thank you Judge Smith for awarding Abby her 3rd major in the form of a Best of Breed win to finish her!
Finished and STILL never kept all 4 feet on the table!

Abby's close up finishing!

Her breeder, Michele Basye (pictured standing beside me in the finishing photo above), and I are thrilled with her! We look forward to her continued success, mainly meaning in the whelping box.
We will be "playing" with her every now and then. I say playing, because specialing a bitch is a difficult task, imagine specialing a chocolate bitch! How's that gonna be for a lesson in futility & humility?
:-)

Thanks to these judges for Abby's wins.
