Calcionate Syrup (Calcium Glubionate Syrup) for human use (made by Rugby Laboratories) – we give 2 cc or half a teaspoon twice a day as soon as a bitch whelps a litter, especially a large litter.
If you want, and the bitch is full of puppies, you can start the Calcionate Syrup a week before she whelps – it won’t hurt anything. I also give a 600 mg. gel cap of calcium during whelping to help the bitch.
