This is a collection of truths according to other breeders older & wiser that I ... my own opinions ... and some comic relief regarding dog breeding. Breeding dogs is a serious hobby ... and I say "serious" MAINLY because unlike inanimate, inert or static hobbies (collecting stamps, biking, hiking) this hobby affects the lives of little dependent beings. These little beings only exist because I made the choice for them to be here. A stamp collection, bike or tent can sit on a shelf for years waiting for the owner to have time to come back to it. A dog has needs 24/7/365. Animal husbandry is pretty close to the responsibility of having a human child, arguably there is no difference in the responsibility. Because of this personal choice to encourage the production of these little lives, I take the responsibility this seriously. Before venturing into a hobby like this, novices should do extensive research, attach themselves to a successful experienced mentor & examine their reasons for wanting to start such an endeavor.

Tri-Del encourages responsible breeding: breeding only in the effort to improve the breed as according to the standard of excellence as set forth by the MPCA and accepted by the AKC.
